Pulling queen cells for stocking mating nucs
Goodevening here from philipines Sir. Im happy to see youre videos. It gives me enthusiasm and eagerness to raise this type of bee. Godbless for you guys and youre family. Hoping you will be a great blessing for many bee keeper enthusiast and even customers. by the way sir can I order from there to send it here to philipines a 2 colony of bees 2 queens and thousands of workers and drones. and if possible how much for 1 colony? Thank you 🙏. by the way sir
I've bought your queens..they are really strong producers..but didn't tolerate the wet climate here in Oregon..and they were more hostile than the Carniloian and native bees I use.
Do you have Russian bees?
That looks like too much work. I'd rather hump big boxes than have to fiddle with it.
Angry bees hitting the mic. Sounds like reports of radioactive particles heard through a Geiger counter. Potentially as harmful, too! Removed an AHB queen today. Controlling the conditions; removing sections as I worked; worked out for me too.
Fred Dunn is a hero of the beekeeping world, and he turned me on to BeeWeaver bees. I have to buy a new queen every time one swarms and gets away from me, because of all the Africanized bees. BeeWeaver queens are a key piece in this fight. On behalf of the people of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Thank you.
Do you offer training courses for beekeeping? How long does it take and what is the cost?
Keep up your good works! ❤
good video, but to help everyone watching, you must tell us what you are doing, constantly
Did u put only 1 cup of bees on each side of the mating nuc?
👍
Great video thanks for sharing :D
i have dwv now,and using OA, not sure if i kill the queen and combine if the virus will be transmitted ,the better colony is the daughter queen or leave them and see if its just going backwards queens 2 yrs since ive caught her in swarm
Amazing setup. How many mating nucs per yard? Do you run multiple yards? How long from time queen cell is placed doyou collect the queens?
What smoker fuel are you using?
So you guys know , you are legends. I’d like to thank you, your family and all the help for the work you have done. I’m sure all beekeepers everywhere would love some of your genetics in their yard. 💪
Well ol partner if you take a copper penny from your pocket and spit on it then rub it on the sting you will be suprised what will happon . Rob.
Same video I guess...... So you clean out the boxes and drop the Larva in the grass along with eggs.....Seems like you're spreading it around
Didn't explain anything...Just a video of a guy walking through the yard.....
Some people are shy.
An oldie; but, a goodie! 👍
Love you guys! Thanks for all you do in the beekeeping world.
How do you keep the bees from stinging your bare arms? As aggressive as they are??? Do you put a certain scent on your arms that they don’t smell or like?
@33:06 the mic starts working properly.
Love the video but saw a ghost walking across the room of the building behind Roosevelt head... 8:25 ish video playback, still love the bees👍
Wish you would explain what in the world you were doing.
I appreciate your efforts, but the hallway effect is un- tolerable. Headset is the only way to go. You helper had it right, but you went back to holding too far away.😒
Hello, I'm thinking about getting a couple BeeWeaver Queens next years. Could you share you experience with them please. Do you find they are aggressive bees? And do they manage well on their own? Thank you so much
Fun video 😁
I've read they are much more aggressive than Saskatraz breed.
Is there away to tame down aggressive bees by getting in them more often
Hey man you all doing good, itll take a lil time to get the word out ,but keep on your making some good videos
God bless you for not becoming an investment banker or real estate developer. Instead, you're doing this really important work that might help to save the human race. Think about it. Your dad is so proud of you!
Are u getting only resistance,or are u getting NICE,CALM bees that are Hygenic but not ONLY resistant, but Honey Producers that are still a pleasure to work.Alot of resistant bees are Hot or don't make Honey. If we ONLY breed survivors, we will have resistant bees but they will be hotter than hell and no fun to work and swore me or Tennessee to abscond a lot and usually known for not making honey crops. Now I have hygienic bees that do all and usually they don't start getting hot until the second or third daughter Queen.. but in my opinion selecting only Survivor stock is a big mistake, there are lots of bees that can't deal witth Varroa but have very good other traits to contribute. the thing is you need to get your Survivor bee bread a couple years to get the Wimpy ones out, that way they're not transmitting viruses from the Weeki wimpy ones to the strong ones that could fight it off by there self, but what's your yard is built up to where pathogens and viruses can't take hold on it no more because they're too strong of bees you need to start bringing some of the other traits back in just because bees don't have agentic Behavior don't mean that they don't have some other behavior that has been suppressed and can be brought out, if you have bees that store honey like crazy but can't winter can you breed them with bees that don't store honey so well but are great at wintering now you get both worlds....
What an enjoyable video to watch... o can’t wait to see more
Do you have a distribution in Fredericksburg, TX?
When does this virus start in a colony, how quickly can it destroy a hive, and does killing the queen always work? I heard from a Joe Rogan podcast about treatments using a certain type of mushroom. Do you use this method? Thanks for your time.
I'm looking to buy queens from Bee Weaver. Will a Bee Weaver queen be accepted into an Italian hive? Thanks!
Hi, Daniel, yes you can. I am attaching some instructions for requeening. You can also do the wooden or plastic cage and not expose the candy for 2-3 days, and go back and remove the candy side cork. This increases the time for the bees to realize they are queenless and get used to the new queen. In general, though our queens are accepted well. Thanks, ~Laura Weaver
I cannot wait for my new queens to arrive from you guys this spring! :) The bees we have are coming through our record winter in fine shape and I couldn't be more impressed! Thank you for the work you do with genetics!
That this is why you just may need a very good beesuit :) Those are some defensive girls there :)
Moving cells means we are going into big strong colonies very frequently, and leaving them open longer than normal. Over time the bees do get more defensive. A veil is mandatory!
Thanks for the reply! Can't wait to receive replacement queens from you all this spring :)
Hi guys! Love seeing what you're doing down there! This is a very important topic, thanks so much!
You are welcome!
You guys! These videos are just terrible!!!! getting seasick without getting to take the cruise. Please do better? I want to like them, but this is bad in every possible way poooohhhh....
Hi, Honey Bees Macro Close. The filming is done with a go pro so it much like any go pro video on the move - a bit wobbly. So far, it is the only we have thought of to have a beekeeper's view and include everything a commercial beekeeper does. If you have any other ideas on how to film and see what the beekeeper is seeing and be in the middle of hives we are happy to learn. Sorry it gave you a bit of motion sickness!
Hi, Again. Also, please check the 2016 clips - you may find these easier to watch. A newer camera' did help with the shaking. thx!
I have to agree with macro and I can't hear anything you're saying. Put your camera on a tripod or something, this is very amateur. I bet it was great to be there though!
Thanks, I'll check them out!
Thank you for recording your starter/finisher setup.
They say that the gentleness comes from the Drone/ So im glad to see the Weaver folks controlling the drones that breed with there queens,, Oh and that mean queen? Yea pinch her and get you a good Buckfast queen. They have other characteristics that are great too.
50 % comes from momma if she first lineage
Daniel Weaver Is one of my hero. Does anyone know how much guts it takes to risk all to do what he believed was right. Because of people like him I am on my 10 year now of treatment free bees. When I first tried this I had like a 90 Percent lose.I was afraid to tell folks that I was treatment free for fear they start the claim that treatment free people are the reason they can't control with chemicals.I have ordered my first queens from Daniel and will be incorporating his work with my own, TY Daniel for what you are doing for us all.
Great, that's the way to do it. It's what you believe in that will keep you going. I am a newbee, and that's my philosophy. This is my first winter, and we'll see. Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
We all can't thank you enough for all of your work on this program and all the work you continue to do for beekeeping at large! I've run BeeWeaver queens and their daughter queens since day one. Best bees on the planet! Wish I'd had this insurance in 2016 with severe drought & resultant wildfire here in the foothills of NC. Our thoughts and prayers are with you with the news of Binford's passing this morning. Thank God we had the gift of his knowledge and expertise for 89 years.
I have been using varroa resistant bees from YOU for the past ten years. I am amazed at their ability to deal with mites on their own. The newer Queens (within the last two years) seem to be performing even better, have there been some new and notable improvements? I am always "ready" to treat but haven't had to. Thank you for your commitment to this way of dealing with challenges facing our bees. Thumbs UP, all the best to you. The hygienic behavior, particularly grooming, is fascinating. Thank You.
I’m enjoying your Bee Keeping Frequently Asked Questions series, in which you have referred to your Beeweaver 🐝 bees ... in your experience, how long do the Beeweaver queens live before they have to be requeened or they are superseded ? Thanks!
I have been buying in Queens from you guys for over 10 years and have always been so happy to work with them. Bees that survive without heavy chemical intervention on the part of the keeper are my first choice. Thank you for all of the extraordinary work you've been doing and for taking the risk of allowing your bees to rise genetically partly through natural selection. For me, I will always select the Weaver Bees First and go from there. I recommend you to all of my viewers and to those who attend my seminars :) I am so happy that you posted this video so others can have a greater understanding of what you are doing and why.
Thank you, Frederick! I am still surprised how chemical dependent the industry is on the whole, but I feel it is moving in the right direction. Have a great Late Summer/ Fall Season!
Thank YOU, we will all do our part to move beekeeping in that direction and hopefully win others over to that way of keeping bees.
Great presentation, super interesting !!!. I' m trying to stop with chemical treatments. Kind regards from Chile 🐝🇨🇱🐝🇨🇱🐝
Thanks for posting I'm a Chilean Beekeeper, we really need to stop using chemicals to control varroa mites. It isn't easy but I believe it is the right way. Regards from Chile
